Holme Lacy House Hotel this Grade I listed mansion was completed in 1674 and was reportedly visited by Charles II, and William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham, who held cabinet meetings in the gardens. Set in 50 acres of gardens in the Wye Valley, Holme Lacy is one of Herefordshire’s treasures. There’s plenty to do, with daily entertainment, an indoor pool, and a choice of restaurants. The hotel also arranges visits around the area, including the Cathedral City of Hereford.
Warner Hotels have great food
Recently returned from one of our favourite Warner venues ,when we saw again our favourite tribute band “Talon”. In this instance as a four piece acoustic session, as opposed to their normal line up as the leading Eagles group. If you’ve not seen them, track them down to one of many theatre date venues across the country. Look them up on the web.You won’t be disappointed!,
We were also treated to a performance of the Chester male voice choir followed by a stunning tribute performance of Whitney Houston songs sung by a convincing lookalike called Nyi King. Her voice and presentation easily mistaken for the real thing.
Needless to say the accommodation and food was up to the very high standard we always expect from Warner’s wherever we go ,with few exceptions.Staff always friendly and helpful from housekeeping and bar staff to the entertainment team.
Special thanks to the young lady,so encouraging when I led the field in archery, two days running ,which has now concentrated a long held ambition to join a club ,to further any skills I might have.Special thanks to the lady called Lisa who led the daytime quizzes and encouraged us onto the dance floor in the evening in her position as social hostess. Her warmth and affection endeared her to everyone.
Two young guys who performed Michael Buble songs, both with impressive voices, and to round off a thoroughly entertaining weekend we were treated to a medley of ABBA songs by the three young ladies, also a part of the team. O’h almost forgot to mention the extremely talented musicians of the resident band called ”Stax”.
This is our 2nd visit to Holme Lacy. The buildings, gardens and grounds are lovely, and we had a lovely room cleaned to a high standard. We have visited many Warner Hotels, and we have to say we were very disappointed with the dining experience, compared to other Hotels, the whole experience was lacking in something. Also we found that the dining staff not that friendly or helpful. It is a real shame as we really did like certain things about this 4 day break, but due to the dining experience we will not be returning to Holme Lacy in the near future.
My wife and I went to holme lacy house hotel for afternoon tea we were welcomed at the entrance by a very polite young woman and directed into the reception where we were met by a very nice gentleman who directed us to where we needed to be when we got there we where taken to our table and the young lady brought our tea & coffee then a young man named Jordan brought our tea and he was extremely polite young man he told us what was on the plates he was also very attentive we were very pleased with the way we were treated the food was excellent I loved the hotel would definitely recommend it and would go back again.
